| Johnson County School
District Number One is a consolidated district with attendance centers at Buffalo and
Kaycee. In addition, there is a rural K-4, two-teacher elementary school in the
county. Approximately 1,320 students attend Johnson County Schools. Buffalo has an elementary school, consisting of
grades K-4. The middle school houses grades 5-8, and the high school enrolls grades
9-12. A variety of educational programs, supportive services, and extracurricular
activities are offered in the schools commensurate with other schools in Wyoming.
Kaycee is a small ranching community
located 45 miles south of Buffalo. One elementary school houses grades K-6 and the
high school encompasses grades 7-12. Kaycee high school has been involved for
several years in long distance satellite learning, thus creating opportunities for an
expanded curriculum. Teacher housing is made available in Kaycee at a nominal rental
price.

Standard Grade Equivalent on achievement tests and above the national norm on ACT tests.

provides a wide variety of extracurricular activities, including music, drama, sports,
forensics, FFA, and student government.

approximately $9.3 million. Johnson County's local assessed valuation is $80
